mxpx

MxPx started as three 15-year-old kids calling themselves Magnified Plaid pounding out music inspired by and similar to The Descendents and other Southern California pop-punk bands. The trio were classmates at Central Kitsap High School in nearby Silverdale, WA. They didn't really love their band name, however, which was a tribute to the original guitarist's fascination with plaid shirts. Consequently, the name was abbreviated to M.P., but in Yuri Ruley's handwriting, periods become "X"'s and since he made up the show posters for the band, the four-letter moniker stuck.
SUM 41

Sum 41 is a Canadian band from Ajax, Ontario. The band was formed from members of several local high school bands, 41 days into the summer of 1996. The band consists of Deryck Whibley (a.k.a. Bizzy D {lead vocals, guitar, keyboard/piano}), Jason McCaslin (a.k.a. Cone {bass and backing vocals}), and Steve Jocz (a.k.a. Stevo32 {drums and backing vocals}). Since signing a record deal with Island Records in 1999, the band has released 4 full length albums, 1 EP, and over 10 singles.

Yellowcard is a rock band from Jacksonville, Florida. Their music can be also classified as pop punk. A distinct characteristic of the music of Yellowcard is their use of a violin, making them somewhat unique within this genre.

The Bloodhound Gang is a comedic American rapcore synth-pop band, mixing an alternative/punk sound with hip-hop. They are originally from Quakertown, Pennsylvania. The group formed in 1993[1].
autopilot off

Autopilot Off formed in 1996 under the name Cooter. They slowly gained in popularity by doing live shows throughout the 90's while sharing the stage with more popular bands such as MXPX, H2O and Sum 41. They eventually recorded their first full length album, Looking Up. They then signed with their major label, Island Records shortly afterwards. After this they released their eponymous debut EP in the spring of 2002, later to be renamed Autopilot Off.
H2O

H2O is an American ######## punk band that was formed in 1995 and released their first record a year later. H2O just recently released a DVD titled One Life One Chance. There is also talk of a Greatest Hits record and a brand new record, which will be released once they find a label to put it on. Besides being known for doing their own headline tours, they have also opened for Sum 41 and Box Car Racer and will open for Rancid in the near future, as well as appeared on Warped Tour. They have a track on the video game Crazy Taxi.
my chemical romance

The band was formed by frontman Gerard Way and ex-drummer Matt Pelissier around a week after the September 11, 2001 attacks. Gerard had witnessed the planes crashing into the World Trade Center. It influenced his life to the extent that he decided to start a band. Gerard wrote the song "Skylines and Turnstiles" to express his feelings about September 11th. Shortly thereafter, Ray Toro was called up and asked to join the band because at the time Gerard couldn't sing and play the guitar at the same time.
R.E.M.

R.E.M. is an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia, in 1980 by Michael Stipe (lead vocals), Peter Buck (guitar), Mike Mills (bass guitar), and Bill Berry (drums and percussion). R.E.M. was one of the first popular alternative rock bands, and gained early attention due to Buck's ringing, arpeggiated guitar style and Stipe's unclear vocals. R.E.M. released its first single, "Radio Free Europe", in 1981 on the independent record label Hib-Tone. The single was followed by the Chronic Town EP in 1982, the band's first release on I.R.S. Records. In 1983, the band released its critically acclaimed debut album Murmur, and built its reputation over the next few years through subsequent releases, constant touring, and the support of college radio. Following years of underground success, R.E.M. entered the mainstream in 1987 with the hit song "The One I Love". The group signed to Warner Bros. Records in 1988, and began to espouse political and environmental concerns while playing large arenas worldwide.

The duo are considered one of the most successful electronic music collaborations of all time, both in album sales and in critical acclaim. The name Daft Punk was inspired by a review in the British music magazine Melody Maker, which dubbed their first collaboration, the Beach Boys-inspired guitar group Darlin', "a bunch of daft punk."
blink 182

blink-182 is a Southern California pop punk band that was formed in 1992 by Tom Delonge, Mark Hoppus and Scott Raynor in the northern San Diego suburb of Poway, California. Travis Barker replaced Raynor on drums in 1998, midway through blink-182's US tour. In 2005, its members announced that the band was on "indefinite hiatus."

Simple Plan is a pop punk revival band formed in 1999 in Montreal, Canada—all five members were born in and grew up in the province of Quebec. Alexisonfire is a five-piece post-hardcore band from St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada established in 2001. Their music is characterized by turbulent and explosive dynamics with intricate guitar melodies and their lyrical topics range from relationship troubles to go-karting. Despite popular belief from some individuals, not helped by the band spelling their name as one word, the band is called "Alexis On Fire" not "Alex Is On Fire". [1] The band is managed by Joel Carriere, co-founder of the popular Canadian online music magazine Bedlam Society, and their label, Dine Alone Records.

Slipknot is a musical group from Des Moines, Iowa, formed in 1995 and currently signed to Roadrunner Records.
Their albums and home videos have achieved Platinum-sales status, with Grammy award nominations in the "Best Heavy Metal" and "Best Hard Rock" categories for songs from all three of their albums. They recently won the 2006 Grammy for Best Metal Performance for "Before I Forget".
The band is also known for its peculiar image: the members wear matching uniform jumpsuits, and custom-made masks inspired by facets of their respective personalities. In the past, their jumpsuits have featured large UPC barcodes printed on the back and sleeves, which is the same barcode as on their first album, Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat. The members' masks are typically altered or presented in a new form with the advent of each new studio album.

Fall Out Boy is an American band from Wilmette, Illinois, (a suburb of Chicago) that formed in 2001. The band consists of Patrick Stump (vocals, guitar, primary composer), Pete Wentz (bass guitar, backing vocals, primary lyricist), Joe Trohman (guitar, backing vocals), and Andy Hurley (drums, percussion).
Fall Out Boy has won several awards for their album From Under the Cork Tree. Released in 2005, the album has achieved triple platinum status after selling more than 2.5 million albums in the United States. In support of the album, Fall Out Boy headlined tours in 2005 and the year before 2007 in the United States, Canada, Japan, and Europe.
